The Society for Creative Anachronism Inc

The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, and more. Our "royalty" hold courts at which they recognize and honor members for their contributions to the group.
Jeremiah and I became member of the SCA in 2004 and joined Clan O’Niall a Celtic household run by Angus O’Niall and Ancara Ligo Nikki. We are a family inside the SCA as well as outside many of us having been
friends for years. Most recently Clan O’Niall joined with Haus Von Drachenklaue (VDK) and formalized a long
standing unity. Our members enjoy cooking, illuminating, working in clay, spinning, needlepoint, sword fighting, leather work, dancing, singing, bead work, needlepoint, and most of all being with each other.

Recently Sorcha, Tobiaz, and I received are Award of Arms award to symbolize commitment to the SCA and being a contributing member to our house and the organization. This was a great honor for all of us and for me especially since the scroll I received was created by my illumination teacher and good friend Ding Li. Check out her amazing work here.

Angus and Ancara have taken there interest in historical sword fighting to educational level and started the Academy of Knightly Arts,
whose focus is, “on reviving the Historical European Medieval Martial Arts.” They have classes from the novice to the most experienced sword fighter. For more information please visit there website at www.knightlyarts.com.
